ACTIFLO™ process for stormwater treatment

Implementation of ACTIFLO™ in the Crispijana WWTP

Total treatment capacity of the Crispy WWTP: 200,000 m3/day

Biological treatment capacity of the Crispy WWTP: 150,000 m3/day

The treatment capacity of the ACTIFLO process is 100,000 m3/day and the area occupied is 153 m2

ACTIFLO™ process Alternative solution to storm tanks in a reduced implementation space

In order to treat the excess flow from the Crispijana WWTP during the rainy season, AMVISA, the municipal water company belonging to the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, promotes in 2011 a project for the construction of a rainwater treatment plant .

After roughing, sand removal and degreasing pretreatment, the new facility is designed for a maximum treatment capacity of 100,000 m3/day and has the ACTIFLO™ process for the removal of suspended solids, BOD, COD and phosphorus from raw water.

The operation and performance characteristics of the ACTIFLO™ process have been key factors for its choice in the Crispijana WWTP. The commissioning and full operation of the process is minimal, just 10 minutes, a highly important factor for the treatment of rainwater.

At the Crispijana WWTP, the ACTIFLO™ process has turned out to be an alternative solution to storm tanks that, in addition to requiring a reduced installation space, guarantees a high quality of the treated water. ACTIFLO™ makes wastewater storage unnecessary, thus avoiding the typical nuisances associated with these tanks.
